If you do nothing else for your skin throughout your life time applying a great sunscreen such as Elta MD will help minimize the damage that the sun does to our skin.  Elta MD protects our skin from the harmful UVA and UVB and UVC rays. UVA and UVB radiation infiltrate the atmosphere. Whereas the majority of UVC rays are stopped by the ozone. These damaging rays of the sun also quash the immune system, decreasing ability to fight off these and other disorders.  UVA rays do deep damage not immediately visible. At Abrams Dermatology we highly suggest EltaMD SPF 30+ for your sun protection.  EltaMD broad-spectrum sunscreens provide safe, broad-spectrum ultraviolet (UV) protection.  With EltaMD sunscreens, the UVA and UVB rays reflect and disseminate away from the skin, providing you a safeguard from sunburn. EltaMD sunscreens help minimize risk of sunburn, thereby reducing the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.  All EltaMD sunscreens are formulated with zinc oxide, a natural, mineral compound. Because zinc maintains its protective ability in the sun, it is more photostable than some chemical ingredients that may degrade. Zinc sunscreen blocks the widest spectrum of UVA and UVB rays, protecting skin against burning and the premature appearance of aging and risk of skin cancer. Zinc is safe for even the most sensitive skin types (
