Posted on 22. Nov, 2013 by in Cosmetic Treatments, Esthetics, Skin Care, Various

Its here, the season many of us look most forward to all year long. The holiday parties, the seasonal programs and events, the dinners and family gatherings.  The busiest time of the year can also be the most stressful time of the year.  We want to look and feel our best for all the upcoming events so it is important to try and stick to a regular, healthy routine even amidst all the chaos!.

There are a few simple things you can do to make sure you don’t become frazzled inside and out.

Cleansing and hydrating the skin is very basic and needs to be done every single day – no falling into bed with the days’ dirt, oil and makeup on.

keeping our system running smoothly.   Go easy on the caffeine, sugary drinks and alcohol.  Too much of these types of drinks can show up on our complexion in the form of dehydration and sluggish, dull looking skin.  It is tempting to over- indulge with all the holiday treats and goodies available.

Our office is literally a sweetshop during the holidays!  Try to add some healthy snacks such as nuts and seeds, seasonal fruits and vegetables, hard cheeses and DARK chocolate.  Have your own snacks on hand during those long errands and shopping days like small bags of mixed nuts and dried fruits.

Try to have down time and get adequate rest.  Now is the perfect time of year to do fun outdoor activities – bicycling, hiking our beaches and parks.  Even taking your best furry friend for a long walk in the neighborhood can help to unwind and relax!

And remember, you do not have to say “yes” to every invitation you receive. Relax and Enjoy! Schedule your time and do the things that you enjoy the most.  Set limits and make lists to help keep you on track.  Ask for support from friends and family if needed.  Sometimes just talking to a friend can give you the boost you need to keep everything in perspective.

The Holidays are a time of giving thanks and being with those who mean the most to us.  If we remember to take care of ourselves while we are creating new memories – we just might enjoy them a little bit more.
