Can a Morning Cup of Joe Prevent Skin Cancer?

Many of us can’t start our day without a morning cup of coffee. But, did you know the caffeine in coffee may actually help prevent skin cancer?
Preliminary animal studies suggest yes caffeine may have photoprotective chemicals in it. In the journal of Investigative dermatology, 2009 Feb 26 (http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/jid.2008.435) studies indeed point to caffeine as having a chemopreventive agent against the adverse effects of UV radiation.
Of course the next step must be confirming these results with humans, but for now, keep drinking your morning coffee.
